Hello Everyone!

Home was refreshing. It's always surprising every time go back and see how much my little brother is growing up. I barely recognized him when he ran up to greet me in the airport. He's almost as tall as I am! But will never grow tall enough to be anything other than "JAKEE BOY!" :) I'm thankful for my family.

Monday Musings returns! I realized about midway through April that I was failing at keeping this blog alive… I blame it on traveling back and forth across the country a couple times, mostly on my laziness. If there's one thing I've learned about myself in my short 22 years, it's that I have a hard time staying on track with projects I start. Whether it be decorating a room, reading a book, writing in a journal, writing a weekly blog….. I get lazy or overwhelmed or busy and stop. But I won't let "Monday Musings" become yet another thing on my "to finish" list! So here goes…

After a brief stay in GA, I flew to Philly just for a cheesesteak. Kidding, but not that farfetched of an idea if you ask me. Flew back to LA for a few days, then was off to NYC/NJ to be in my friend's wedding. It was a perfect. Such an honor to be apart of their special day. They are dear friends of mine and their wedding was everything a wedding should be. After that magical weekend, I headed to Nashville to get to work. As I've mentioned before, I'm working on my first album. I had song writing sessions every single day in Nashville. Going into it, it was a little daunting. I'm always nervous because I always have that same little, insecure voice in my head that says, "What are you doing?! You're not qualified to do this/ You're not talented/ You're not creative…" Ugh. BUT- I pushed through and came out with some songs that I really love! I'm SO EXCITED ABOUT THIS ALBUM YOU GUYS. And terrified. A good mix of both.

My month of April was full of fun. Went home to GA for a weekend, had a Philly cheesesteak in Philly, watched a dear friend get married, and wrote a lot of songs in Nashville.

So that brings me to now. Sitting in my apartment in LA. About to head out into this beautiful day. Hope you're having a happy Monday. I'll talk to you next week! … I will, I promise!! ;)
